Sunderland targeting new striker

The Black Cats appear to be searching the market for a new striker this month and Michael Beale is hoping to “excite” supporters with one or two additions.

“We have a clear idea on one or two of the areas we would like to strengthen this month, if we can. Recent reports have claimed Sunderland are in pole position to sign the Wales international ahead of a number of other Championship sides, and a new update has emerged including the name of a new attacking target.

Sunderland eyeing Sam Gallagher move

According to The Northern Echo’s chief reporter Scott Wilson, Sunderland have held preliminary talks with Bournemouth for Moore and are waiting to hear the final decision. However, the reliable reporter added that the club’s recruitment team, led by sporting director Kristjaan Speakman, also have Sam Gallagher of Blackburn Rovers on their transfer wishlist.

Gallagher, who can play anywhere across the front three, completed a permanent move to Blackburn in 2019 after a previous loan spell and has been a regular at Ewood Park ever since.

The 28-year-old has plenty of experience in the Championship, mostly with Rovers, so could be a shrewd addition, potentially alongside Moore to rival the likes of centre-forward options Nazariy Rusyn and youngsters Mason Burstow, Eliezer Mayenda and Luis Semedo.

In their future decisions, the integrity and longer term growth of a competition must take greater precedence. All the scrambling made the BBL look less like the biggest addition to cricket down under in decades, and more like a league struggling to stay afloat.

Amid those negotiations, Chelsea star Conor Gallagher also remains of serious interest to Tottenham among others, and it hasn't entirely been ruled out that the club will move to sign another defender after Dragusin.

Reporter Jones, speaking to GiveMeSport, has now hinted at the possibility of a January bid from Spurs for the 21-year-old. Indeed, he says Tottenham could advance in a late window bid for Calafiori, as he fits the profile and Spurs have a history of attempting to strike last-gasp winter moves.

"The intent has been on moving players on and that has gone brilliantly over the past couple of weeks, and there are a couple of situations still being dealt with this weekend," said Jones late on Sunday.

"It’s interesting because it is going to allow Spurs some room to manoeuvre in the final week of the window and we all know they have a tradition of liking a late deal. Calafiori has a profile that would fit with what we have been told to expect from Spurs in terms of emerging talent over the course of this year and it would not surprise me if they look to advance that."

The left-footed centre-back is amassing a real reputation in Serie A, with aspiring data analyst Ben Mattinson branding Calafiori the "perfect" player for Bologna in his position.

If Rangers can't get Shankland, assuming Hearts hold firm, they must look elsewhere for a target between now and the end of deadline day, as they look to give themselves the best chance of going all the way this season.

واستكمل: “وأيضًا مرت علي فترة صعبة عندما تم إبلاغ فريقي في وادي دجلة أن هناك 5 لاعبين فقط سيصعدون للفريق الأول من الشباب والباقي سيرحل، فعانيت من ضغط كبير وقتها، وكانت المصادفة الغريبة أنني كنت اللاعب الوحيد الذي تم تصعيده حتى لم يتم اختيار 4 آخرين”.

وواصل: “لم أتردد لحظة في قبول عرض النادي الأهلي عندما كنت لاعبًا في دجلة، بالرغم من وجود عروض أكبر، ولكن اللعب لأكبر نادي في إفريقيا كان حلم كبير بالنسبة لي، فنحمد الله أن حلمي تحقق”.

وأكد: “ليس سهلًا أن ينتقل لاعب للأهلي بعمر 21 سنة، والفريق كان يضم نجومًا كثر مثل وليد سليمان وعبد الله السعيد ومؤمن زكريا، فكان صعب الدخول وسط تلك الكوكبة من النجوم، فقررت الخروج للإعارة لكي أثبت نفسي”.

واستأنف: “أوقات تصادف مباريات الأهلي مواعيد تدريبي، ولكن عندما يكون هناك مباراة الأهلي ولدي وقت فراغ أتابع بالطبع”.

واستطرد: “انتقالي للخليج السعودي تأخر موسم كامل بسبب الإصابة، حيث كان مقررًا أن أنضم قبل أن الموعد الذي جئت فيه، ولكن تعرضي لإصابة حال دون ذلك”.

وكشف: “وكيلي تحدث معي عن عرض من نادي الخليج فأبديت الموافقة، خاصة وأن الدوري السعودي بات قويًا جدًا ويستقطب لاعبين من أوروبا، خاصة وأن مسؤولي النادي كانو مهتمين بضمي”.

وأشار: “الدوري السعودي بات قويًا ويضم نجوم مميزين، فطبيعة الحال البطولة تفيد جميع اللاعبين بهذا الاحتكاك، وأطمح في الظهور بشكل مميز هذا الموسم، وطموحنا كفريق أن نحقق مركز أفضل من الموسم الماضي”.

Aos poucos, as pratas da casa tem sido oportunizado pelo treinador corintiano. O atacante Rodrigo Varanda é o que mais tem recebido chances, tendo sido titular em todas as seis partidas do Timão na temporada, atuando 405 dos 540 minutos do time até aqui.

– As oportunidades estão sendo dadas aos garotos. Não posso, de uma maneira repentina, dar oportunidade a vários garotos, porque eles vão sentir. Hoje vi o Cauê com muita dificuldade no jogo. Estamos tentando amadurecer os jogadores. É importante que eles entrem e façam parte. O Rodrigo oscilou nesses jogos, ao longo da partida acabou se recuperando. E outros vão ter essa dificuldade – explicou o técnico Vagner Mancini após o triunfo por 1 a 0 sobre o Mirassol, nesta terça-feira (23), pela quinta rodada do Estadual, no estádio Raulino de Oliveira, em Volta Redonda (RJ).

O elenco atual do Corinthians conta com 20 revelações do clube, incluindo os veteranos Fagner e Jô. Desses, nove foram promovidos nesta temporada: Adson, Alan, Antony, Biro, Cauê, Felipe, Vitinho e Yago, além de Rodrigo Varanda, mas apenas Adson, Vitinho, Antony e Cauê, entraram em campo. Antony e Varanda foram os únicos que tiveram chances como titular.

Relacionado para os jogos contra Palmeiras e Ponte Preta, pelas segunda e terceira rodada do Campeonato Paulista, momento em que o elenco do Corinthians sofria com surtos de Covid-19. Entrou em campo em uma oportunidade, contra a Macaca, faltando dois minutos para o fim do jogo.

Titular na vitória por 2 a 1 contra a Ponte Preta, pela terceira rodada do Campeonato Paulista, na Neo Química Arena, foi substituído no intervalo e atuou 45 minutos. Entrou no final dos jogos contra o Palmeiras e São Caetano, pelas segunda e quarta partidas do Estadual. No Dérbi, foram quatro minutos jogados, e diante do Azulão um.

Biro (lateral-esquerdo)

Sem laterais durante a terceira e quara rodada do Campeonato Paulista, por conta do surto de Covid-19 que o Corinthians foi acometido, foi inscrito, relacionado para os duelos contra Ponte Preta e São Caetano, pelas terceira e quarta rodada do Paulistão, mas em ambas ficou apenas no banco de reservas, com o técnico Vagner Mancini optando por improvisar o zagueiro Bruno Méndez na lateral-esquerda.

Cauê

Entrou em campo três vezes nesta temporada, mas não chegou a ser titular. No total, são 201 minutos, todos entrando no decorrer da partida: 20 na estreia corintiana no Paulistão, contra o Red Bull Bragantino, no dia 28 de fevereiro, no estádio Nabi Abi Chedid, em Bragança; 23 na vitória do TImão por 3 a 0 sobre o Salgueiro, no dia 17 de março, no sertão pernambucano, pela primeira fase da Copa do Brasil; e 26 nesta terça-feira (23), quando o Corinthians bateu o Mirassol por 1 a 0, pela quinta rodada do Estadual, no estádio Raulino de Oliveira, em Volta Redonda (RJ).

Titular em todos os jogos nesta temporada, sempre foi substituído. Entrou seis vezes em campo, atuando 405 minutos até aqui. Fez um gol, no empate em 2 a 2 entre Corinthians e Palmeiras, pela segunda rodada do Paulistão, no dia 3 de março, na Neo Química Arena.

Tem 14 minutos jogando nesta temporada, já que entrou aos 31 do segundo tempo no jogo contra o São Caetano, pela quinta rodada do Paulistão, no Anacaleto Campanella.
