Sunderland supporters will be entering September over the moon with their side's top start to the Championship season, with the Black Cats still boasting a 100% record in the second tier after four games.

Only one goal has been shipped across this unbeaten patch so far, whilst ten strikes have also been scored by Regis Le Bris' men to keep them at the very top of the second-tier summit.

Whilst the likes of Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham have been thrust into the limelight off the back of this excellent start, reliable number-one goalkeeper Anthony Patterson also continues to prove his immense worth to the early Championship pace-setters.

Patterson's season so far

Much like Rigg, Patterson has been in the Sunderland first-team ranks for what feels like an eternity, despite the shot-stopper still only 24 years of age.

The homegrown Black Cats product has shone this season to date, as he has done over a number of campaigns in the senior mix now, with three clean sheets collected from those four clashes.

Wanted by a whole host of Premier League suitors this off-season, with Gary O'Neil's Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly interested at one point, Patterson will just aim to continue performing for his boyhood club – away from any admirers watching from afar – to try and put the Wearside outfit firmly back on the footballing map by winning promotion up to the top-flight.

Noted as having "outstanding" reactions in the past when in-between the sticks by football journalist Josh Bunting, Patterson is very firmly the main starting 'keeper week in week out for Le Bris' men.

He's even worth more than Bellingham, according to Football Transfers, which further reinforces his pivotal nature in the Sunderland first-team ranks, as the 18-year-old aims to soar to new heights across this season to come.

Bellingham is worth a little less at £10m, but will no doubt generate Sunderland more money than that if he is sold on down the line, much like Clarke gifting the second-tier promotion hopefuls up to £20m after leaving for Ipswich Town.

He could go for a fee around this region too, with a mightily impressive seven goals and one assist managed during his debut season whilst he was still finding his way in his new surroundings.

أعرب السويسري مارسيل كولر المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي، عن سعادته بعد الفوز الذي حققه في مباراة اليوم على مودرن سبورت بنتيجة 3-1، ضمن منافسات بطولة الدوري المري الممتاز.

والتقى الأهلي مع مودرن سبورت، على أرضية استاد السلام، في إطار مواجهات الجولة الـ11 من عمر مسابقة بطولة الدوري.

وقال مارسيل كولر في تصريحات خلال المؤتمر الصحفي: “أرضية الملعب صعبت الأمور علينا، كان ليس سهلًا أن نلعب كرتنا عليها، الأرضية ليست في أفضل حالة، اللاعبون أدوا ما عليهم، قلت لهم بين الشوطين يجب أن نحاول لعدم دخول مرمانا أهداف ونظل مركزين وللأسف دخل مرمانا هدف، لكن في النهاية فزنا باستحقاق، وكان ممكن نُسجل أكثر من هدف”.

وبسؤاله هل تعتمد على محلل أداء أثناء إدارة المباراة أم في التدريبات فقط، وما هي البيانات المهمة بالنسبة لك خلال المباراة؟ أجاب: “هذا الموضوع ليس له علاقة مباشرة بالمباراة، ونرجو أن تكون الأسئلة بخصوص مباراة اليوم”.

عن جراديشار قال: “سجل اليوم هدفًا، وما زال لم يصل للرتم الذي نلعب به، في الاستراحة قال إنه لديه إصابة خفيفة وهذا طبيعي لأن ضغط المباريات عليه مختلف عن النادي الذي كان يلعب فيه، سجل هدفًا ولعب مباراة رائعة وصنع فرصًا كثيرة لزملائه، أرى أنه أدى مباراة ممتازة، هو غير مصاب لكنه إرهاق شديد بسبب أنه لم يدخل في رتم المباريات 100%”.

وأكمل: “بن شرقي كان لديه إصابة وظل أسبوع لا يتدرب، وفي فترة التعاقدات كان مشغولًا بسبب انتقاله من فريقه السابق لفريقنا، أتمنى أن ندفع به في أقرب وقت إذا قال الطبيب إن إصابته ليست خطيرة، لكن لا يوجد وقت محدد للدفع به”.

Outro aspecto abordado na coletiva foi sobre seu momento na carreira. Depois de sofreruma lesão no joelho esquerdo em dezembro de 2020, o atleta formado no Vasco passou por três cirurgias e só voltou a entrar em campo no dia 14 de setembro, na derrota do Barcelona por 3 a 0, para o Bayern de Munique, na estreia da Champions League.

– Me sinto muito bem. Óbvio que ficar nove meses parado não é fácil, vir de três cirurgias seguidas no mesmo joelho… Mas desde que voltei não sinto nenhuma dor, nenhum incômodo. Mas me sinto bem. Voltei em setembro, já tem um tempo, estou feliz em estar de volta. É como se fosse a primeira vez, é assim que encaro toda vez que estou na Seleção. É uma honra vestir essa camisa – disse.

Os jornalistas relembraram uma declaração de Tite ao jornal espanhol “As”, concedida em 2020, na qual o comandante falou que Coutinho é o tipo de jogador que precisa ser mimado. Coutinho refutou tal ideia e voltou a falar sobre dedicação e trabalho.

-Isso aí fica sempre com vocês jornalistas, que criam bastante coisa. -É boa a evolução dele, é um grande jogador. É bom para a Seleção ter grandes jogadores. Venho aqui na base do trabalho, quero poder trabalhar nesses 10 dias, dar o meu máximo. -Já se passou um tempo que voltei a jogar, claro que não tive uma sequência de jogos começando jogando, como gostaria, mas 100% estou, e muito feliz em estar aqui de volta.

Quando retornar ao Barça, o camisa 14 encontrará um novo comandante, pois Xavi assinou contrato e foi apresentado no Camp Nou para a torcida culé. O meia comentou sobre a declaração dada pelo espanhol de que ele teria sido convidado pela CBF para ser assistente de Tite, e futuramente comandar a Seleção Brasileira.

– Fiquei sabendo por você. Xavi foi um grande jogador, um grande ídolo no futebol. E agora está de volta à casa, ao Barcelona. Espero que ele possa ter muito sucesso junto com o grupo que nós temos. As can be seen looking at the table above, Grot seriously underwhelmed during his debut season, leading to Leeds selling on their dreadful buy to German outfit VfL Osnabrück in 2021.

It’s not as if Grot has managed to pick up the pieces since having his reputation damaged at Elland Road, with the now 26-year-old attacker playing out in Japan and struggling once more.

The one-time NEC forward hasn’t been able to find a fixed home since his whirlwind stint in England, playing all across the globe in Germany, Denmark and now all the way out in Japan with Kashiwa Reysol.

Grot hasn’t managed to become the potent goalscorer his Tokyo-based side would have wanted him to be either, with only three strikes registered from 26 games to date pulling on a Reysol strip.

Comical misses like the one above, after he had managed to capitalise on an error by the opposition goalkeeper, haven’t exactly helped his cause at Reysol, as his woes at Leeds continue to haunt him to this day.

Leeds supporters in the here and now will hope purchases from Europe this window in the form of Largie Ramazani and Ao Tanaka, to name a few, aren’t immortalised down the line as folding in their new location like Grot, but seen instead as stellar new acquisitions.

Regardless of what happens now with this new batch of players, Grot is definitely viewed as one of the worst players in recent memory to wear Leeds white, and a considerable stain on Radrizzani’s bumpy time at the club.

Zimbabwe’s Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has given Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) permission to host Bangladesh in July despite a government directive to suspend all sporting activity in the country as part of measures aimed at containing Covid-19.The tour will consist of one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is. All matches will take place behind closed doors in Harare.This will be the second men’s international series Zimbabwe will host since the pandemic began, after successfully staging two Tests and three T20s against Pakistan in April. Zimbabwe have also hosted the Pakistan women’s side and the South Africa A side, although both those series were cut short.The Pakistan women’s side left Zimbabwe because of flight restrictions while the South African A team left before completing their second four-day fixture last week when stricter restrictions were introduced. At the time, ZC petitioned the SRC to allow the match to be completed, and they agreed, but South Africa A had already departed the country.Zimbabwe’s Covid-19 infection rate has remained relatively low, with less than 50,000 cases in the country to date but numbers are on the rise. Restrictions are in place in several districts in the country, including a ban on all gatherings, while schools also remain closed. However, several industries are allowed to continue operating, including professional sport, with a small Olympics contingent continuing to prepare for the Tokyo Games, and the national cricket team now gearing up to play Bangladesh.The tour will begin with a Test match from July 7-11 followed by three ODIs which form part of the World Cup Super League. Bangladesh are currently at the top of the table, with 50 points from nine matches, while Zimbabwe are at the bottom, with 10 points from three matches. The top eight teams will automatically qualify for the 2023 World Cup, while the rest will go through to a qualifying event. Zimbabwe hosted the qualifier for the 2019 World Cup, and missed out on the showpiece event. The tour will conclude with three T20Is.Zimbabwe and Bangladesh last met in March 2020 when Zimbabwe traveled to Bangladesh. Zimbabwe lost all the matches on that tour: one Test, three ODIs and two T20Is. Bangladesh were last in Zimbabwe in April and May 2013. They drew the Test series 1-1, won the ODIs 2-1 and drew the T20I series 1-1.

Despite suffering only their first league defeat of the season on Saturday against Burnley, Leeds boss Farke is already under scrutiny, as it’s been a mixed start to the new Championship season.

The Whites have won just two wins from their opening five league games and defeat to Clarets has now piled the misery on the German. According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Farke is now “under pressure” at Leeds after a disappointing start to the campaign. This 2024/25 campaign is Farke’s second in charge at Elland Road, but given the failure to seal promotion last season, he was already under huge pressure before a ball was kicked.

He oversaw a very difficult summer, as Leeds lost several key players to big money moves to the Premier League, and while they brought in players too, it could be said that they didn’t bring in as many as he would have liked. Farke’s talent ID will come under scrutiny at Leeds if this crop of signings don’t work out, and it has already been called into question at his previous clubs.

Farke blamed for wasting £7m on third division level player

According to Rheinische Post, relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds boss Farke has come under fire for his decision to sign Nathan Ngoumou for his former side Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Bundesliga side signed Ngoumou for around 8 million euros or £7 million back in 2022 from French side Toulouse. The winger played 21 times under Farke before the German left the club and, according to this report, Farke even went so far as to compare Ngoumou to a young Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, there is a belief that Farke overrated the player and this report states that Ngoumou wouldn’t even stand out in the third tier of German football after his recent performance for Mönchengladbach.

The newspaper believes the Leeds boss’ previous praise has made the situation worse and his hyping up of the player has been labelled as “astonishing” given that Farke didn’t know what to do with the player himself, moving him around in several different roles.
