Leeds should further reinforce their attack by signing free agent Agbonlahor

According to reports in Turkey, via the Birmingham Mail, Gabby Agbonlahor’s next destination could be Super Lig side Malatyaspor, though some Championship clubs have shown interest in the free agent

Agbonlahor’s entire career to date has been spent at Villa Park, but the 31-year-old’s time with the club has finally come to an end this summer with the expiry of the his contract.

Agbonlahor’s next move is likely to take him abroad. However, certain Championship clubs would be wise to tempt the former England international to remain on these shores.

Leeds United have already bolstered their attacking options this summer with the signing of Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough. Though, some extra depth up front looks like it could be needed if the Whites are serious about becoming genuine promotion contenders this season.

The Breakdown

Last season, Leeds struggled to convert chances into goals, something which new boss Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to change. The recruitment of Agbonlahor would arm his squad with another player who is capable of being very efficient in front of goal.

The top level experience that the former Aston Villa man possesses would also be a healthy addition to Bielsa’s ranks.

Agbonlahor, of course, isn’t a long term option, but he would add a little more depth to the attacking contingent at Elland Road in a cost effective manner.

If Leeds could come to a fair contract agreement with the striker, then making this deal happen would be yet another smart bit of business done by the Yorkshire club this summer.

Arsenal fans debate shock swoop for Liverpool target Fekir

When Nabil Fekir is mentioned in a transfer story, most would assume that it involves Liverpool.

However, other Premier League clubs have seemingly entered the fray after the Lyon playmaker’s proposed move to Anfield collapsed.

According to France Football, Chelsea have now entered the race to sign Fekir, whose past knee injury proved to be too much of a concern for Liverpool.

With only two days left until the transfer window closes, any club looking to recruit the midfielder needs to get a move on.

Arsenal have not been mentioned in recent reports about a late attempt to nab the Lyon player, but some of their fans have been discussing the possibility.

[brid autoplay=”true” video=”255898″ player=”12034″ title=”Watch Arsenal’s opening fixtures for the 201819 Premier League season”]

Fekir predominantly plays as a number 10, but he can also be useful out wide on the right, or up front on his own.

Some Arsenal supporters believe that the Frenchman could be an asset in Unai Emery’s team, while others think that he is not needed.

Selling Cabaye could be bad if new signings don’t deliver

Crystal Palace started their Premier League campaign with a confident 2-0 win over league newcomers Fulham away from home.

The brilliance of Wilfried Zaha was once again on show as the Ivorian bagged his first of the season, along with Jeff Schlupp, who is hardly a regular goalscorer.

A midfield battle was one by Crystal Palace, the key to victory but with 37 more league games to play, the decision to let Yohan Cabaye go could turn out to get worse and worse, especially if new signings fail to live up to expectation.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Max Meyer were two central-midfielders recruited this summer as Palace eyed a more successful finish than 11th last season. Those two were certainly shrewd additions, particularly because the pair cost a small amount between them. In the current market, they really could work out to be bargains, or prove why they were cheap to buy.

Yohan Cabaye, on the other hand, was consistent for the Eagles throughout his time at Selhurst Park, including last season. He made 31 appearances and for Cabaye then to be allowed to leave is a decision that could haunt Palace. The former French international had a good delivery, is a dead-ball specialist and he isn’t afraid of going in for a tackle.

He is much too good to play in the UAE and for a real challenging end to his career, his time should have been spent helping Crystal Palace grow further as a club.

On one hand, Crystal Palace are trying to show progression by selling a 32-year-old midfielder but even as back-up should players get injured or new signings aren’t as good as expected, Cabaye could have been a great option for Palace.

Time will tell but to make such a bold move in letting a consistent midfielder leave your club may be a bad move for Roy Hodgson.

Do you agree or is right to move on from the Frenchman… Let us know!

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is the only winger Tottenham should consider getting rid of this month

According to a recent report from El Desmarque, Lucas Moura has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this month. The 26-year-old only made the move to Mauricio Pochettino’s side back in January after five years at French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, although he didn’t command regular football at Spurs in the second half of last season.

And reports suggest that Spanish club Real Betis are interested in the winger, yet Tottenham simply must forget about sanctioning his departure, as there is only one winger they should seek to get rid of this month, namely Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

The Breakdown

Ultimately, while Brazil international Moura only mustered 11 senior appearances for Pochettino’s men last time round, he is certainly a lot closer to the first team than teammate N’Koudou, and will likely ask more questions of fellow front players this time round after an impressive pre-season.

In fact, there were glimpses of promise from the 26-year-old last season to suggest that he could be a big asset for Pochettino this term, and while 23-year-old N’Koudou deserves great credit for also performing well in pre-season, it just doesn’t look like he has much of a future at the North London outfit.

The winger made the move to Spurs back in 2016 after impressing at French side Marseille, but he only managed 17 senior appearances in his first season at the club in the 2016/17 campaign, just two of which were starts.

And the season after didn’t prove to be any more fruitful for the Frenchman given he only mustered six appearances for Pochettino’s side, before being shipped out on loan to Burnley back in January of this year to emphasise his lowly position in the Argentine’s pecking order – he even struggled for regular football at Turf Moor.

And, despite impressing during pre-season, the 23-year-old still wasn’t able to make Pochettino’s matchday squad for their opening Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Saturday, and with Moura starting the 2-1 win, that itself is the clearest indication that it is N’Koudou who Spurs should consider getting rid of this month, certainly not Brazilian star Moura.

RB Leipzig to up Lookman bid to £22m, Everton fans react

The future of Ademola Lookman has been a running theme over the past couple of months.

The Everton winger has been linked to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig ever since he spent the second half of last season at the German club on loan.

During his time abroad, the 20-year-old impressed by scoring five goals and creating four assists in 11 league outings.

Since signing for the Merseyside outfit from Charlton Athletic last January, Lookman has struggled to earn a regular spot in the team.

The winger is still at a young age, therefore it is no big surprise that he is not first name on the teamsheet.

However, his progress has not been helped by the fact that Everton have had four different managers since October last year.

[brid autoplay=”true” video=”278155″ player=”12034″ title=”Every Transfer Window EVER”]

Ronald Koeman signed Lookman, but after he was sacked, David Unsworth took charge temporary and was then replaced with Sam Allardyce.

At the end of last season, the ex-England boss was succeeded by Marco Silva, who is now in charge of Lookman’s future.

According to a recent report in The Mirror, Leipzig are determined to land their man, and have tabled a third bid of around £22m.

Some Everton fans have been debating whether or not the club should accept.

Last minute: These 2 loan signings would seal Aston Villa’s promotion

After talk of finances dominated much of Aston Villa’s summer, the club look to be a very capable team on the pitch, Bruce’s men are so far unbeaten in the Championship.

A last minute equaliser at home to Brentford showed a real never-say-die spirit at the club, the players likely rallying together after the clubs recent, well-publicised, financial issues.

The club got through the summer window holding onto their prized asset in midfielder Jack Grealish. Despite rumours surrounding his future, in particular, that Tottenham Hotspur were keen to sign the player, the Villa Park outfit kept hold of their man. His creative capabilities will really help propel the Villains to a strong season this term. Perhaps they are just a couple of players short of having a squad capable of challenging for the Championship top spot.

With that in mind, a couple more loan-signings before the EFL window slams shut would seal Villa’s promotion…

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

The Tottenham Hotspur winger spent last season on loan with Burnley, but failed to make an impact with the Lancashire outfit.

Nevertheless, he would be a serious talent for Championship level. He is very unlikely to get much game time at the new-look White Hart Lane, so perhaps a loan to a Championship side would be a good option for the Frenchman.

With Albert Adomah ageing, he would provide a great extra option out wide for the Villa Park outfit.

Josh Cullen

Aston Villa have previous of doing loan-business with the London Stadium outfit, last season managing to gain the services of Scotsman Robert Snodgrass.

Josh Cullen is a 22-year-old product of the West Ham United academy, his qualities on the ball in midfield would help Steve Bruce’s men dominate games in terms of possession and get a real foothold in matches.

He would add great depth to the Villa midfield, and over the course 0f a long season, the club have to be ready for the fact that injuries can take their toll on a squad. Cullen’s technical ability could help seal promotion for Aston Villa.

Leicester City are the biggest winners from Filip Benkovic’s late summer departure

Leicester City supporters have been somewhat disappointed in the Transfer Tavern in recent times after seeing their team suffer a second Premier League defeat of the campaign on Saturday.

Claude Puel’s men went into their clash with early pace-setters Liverpool off the back of successive victories over Wolves and Southampton, and as such they were full of confidence ahead of the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds. Yet it wasn’t to be for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium as first half goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino set the visitors on their way to all three points, with Rachid Ghezzal’s effort after the break not enough to inspire a Leicester comeback.

Thus, there have been many frustrated Foxes fans up and down the country in recent times, although many are likely to be interested in how defender Filip Benkovic gets on at Scottish champions Celtic, having joined the Bhoys on loan on the last day of the Scottish window.

And with the Foxes reportedly possessing the chance to recall the defender in January, it appears that Puel’s men are indeed the biggest winners from the 21-year-old’s late summer departure.

Ultimately, Leicester fans may be somewhat frustrated that Benkovic has left the club, albeit temporarily, for the rest of the campaign, what with the Croatia Under-21 international having only joined the club a matter of weeks earlier.

But with Harry Maguire remaining at the King Power Stadium, alongside the fact that Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans have done reasonably well so far this season, first team football would likely have been hard come to by for the young defender – thus, a move away appears to be in his best interests.

But it’s also in the best interests of Leicester as well given that Benkovic will at least be playing regular football north of the border at Parkhead, thus allowing the defender to continue improving and developing, and thus be ready to step up to the Foxes first team upon return.

And given Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is one of the most highly-rated coaches in the British game, the 21-year-old will be learning from someone who has never been afraid to give young players a platform from which to go out and perform – Benkovic will learn loads from his time at Parkhead.

Add in the fact that playing for the Bhoys is highly pressurised and expectations are very high, and Benkovic is almost certainly going to come back a better player for his experiences at Celtic Park, which would undoubtedly beat being a surplus to requirements at the King Power Stadium for the remainder of the season.

As such, while Celtic themselves will feel that they have pulled off a great deal luring the 21-year-old north of the border, it’s Leicester who are the biggest winners from the defender’s late summer move, given Benkovic is able to keep developing as a player ready to return to the Foxes as a centre back ready for Premier League football, as opposed to sitting on the bench all season.

Emiliano Sala: Leeds United’s ideal January signing

Leeds United are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table during the international break.

The Whites have made an excellent start to life under Marcelo Bielsa, winning four of their opening six fixtures in the league. No one would have expected the squad to adapt so quickly to the Argentine’s methods, but their superb start has made Leeds one of the favourites to be promoted. Despite lumbering to a draw in their last fixture against Middlesbrough, United remain top of the division.

The ex-Bilbao manager was recently named as the Championship Manager of the Month and forward Kemar Roofe was given the Player of the Month award. Bielsa will be hoping to return to winning ways against Millwall following the international break. The former Chile boss has had two weeks to fine-tune his preparation and ensure their unbeaten streak continues.

Despite Roofe’s form in front of goal, Leeds could target another forward in January. Bielsa should return to his former league and sign Nantes striker – Emiliano Sala. Valued at £10.8m by Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old has been in fine form since joining the club from Bordeaux in 2015. Sala netted 12 times and registered four assists last season, the second consecutive year he hit double figures for goals.

His form has continued into the new campaign, netting three goals in four appearances in Ligue 1 so far. Should Leeds continue their form, Sala could be tempted to move to Elland Road. Working with his countryman Bielsa could give him the chance of an Argentina call-up given the Argentine formerly managed the national side.

Sala could help the Whites secure their long-awaited return to England’s top flight.

Manchester United fans on Twitter still want to sign Maguire next summer despite new contract

Harry Maguire has signed a new five-year deal at Leicester City after he was heavily linked with a big-money move to Manchester United this summer, but fans of the Red Devils still want their club to sign the Englishman.

The 25-year-old played every minute of the Premier League season as the Foxes finished ninth in the table. Maguire then really shone at this summer’s World Cup in Russia with Gareth Southgate’s England side as the Three Lions made it all the way to the semi-final.

Maguire has also played all four of Leicester’s games so far this season and scored a late winner in the 2-1 win over Southampton.

With his new deal running until 2023 it will now take a huge bid for any side to tempt the Leicester hierarchy to sell their new main man, but many Manchester United fans on Twitter still wanted Ed Woodward and Jose Mourinho to go back in for him next summer.

If Alonso leaves Chelsea, this man is the only replacement they should consider signing

Chelsea’s superb start to the season carried on this weekend with an easy 4-1 win over Premier League newboys Cardiff City.

The Blues were good value for the win at the Bridge as they brushed aside Neil Warnock’s men thanks to an inspired showing from Eden Hazard.

However, with such a talented squad and a squad playing so well, many players could well be the subject of big bids in the coming windows, and one man we think could well attract some attention is left back Marcos Alonso.

However we think the club should be going all to capture is Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, who seems to have adapted to life in the Premier League with ease following a stunning breakout season last time out at Craven Cottage and could be the perfect replacement for Alonso.

Sessegnon is comfortably one of the top talents in the game at the moment, and still only a teenager, has plenty of scope for improvement.

While Alonso has potential to be and probably is already one of the best in the world in his position, Sessegnon has all the characteristics of someone who can achieve even more than the Spaniard.

Sessegnon has electric pace, is good in front of goal, and for such a young player, has bags of experience already. Plenty of clubs will want to sign Sessegnon in the coming seasons, and Chelsea should be at the head of the queue to snap him up.

Chelsea fans, what do you think? Do you like Sessegnon? Let us know in the comments!
