Phillies Fan Gives Priceless Interview After Team’s Season-Ending Loss to Mets

The Philadelphia Phillies, winners of 95 games and the champions of the NL East, had their season come to an abrupt end Wednesday with a 4-1 loss to the New York Mets in Game 4 of their NLDS.

The Phillies jumped out to a 1-0 lead before the Mets scored all of their runs on Francisco Lindor's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Phillies lost in seven games in the NLCS last season and fell to the Astros in the 2022 World Series. They haven't won a title since 2008 when they beat the Rays.

A local Philadelphia news station interviewed fans after the game and one woman had a priceless take on her emotions following the loss.

"There’s a couple of low points in my life—my dog passing away and them getting a grand slam," Courtney O’Neill said. "The grand slam took the cake."

She added: "I feel like I might either check into AA, therapy, or an institute of some sort because this is crap. It's full of crap."

You gotta love sports.

Anderson re-signs; £75m PL star joins: Ross Wilson's dream XI at Newcastle

Newcastle United have stepped away from the action zone as the October international break takes the stage. But Newcastle are anything but idle, having appointed a new technical director in Ross Wilson from Nottingham Forest.

Wilson, 41, leaves the City Ground having overseen a rise from relegation candidates in the Premier League to European contenders, having finished seventh last year after heavy spending.

In the dugout, Eddie Howe is a meticulous man. He knows every nook and every cranny of his opponents’ half, having profiled each player and grasped their strengths and their weaknesses. Wilson has a personality apt to connect with the tactician’s own bearing.

Newcastle have earned their flowers for their fast rise in the years since PIF completed their club takeover, qualifying for the Champions League in two of the last three seasons and winning the Carabao Cup last year.

But Paul Mitchell left his post less than one year after Dan Ashworth departed, and there’s no denying the Magpies recruitment drive has been knocked somewhat out of kilter. That is now anticipated to change.

Ross Wilson's recruitment record

Before Nottingham Forest, it was Rangers. While in Scotland, it was Wilson who sat behind the desk when Steven Gerrard led the club to the Premiership title, still the Gers’ sole title success since 2011.

And after moving to the Premier League, his reputation has only grown, with Wilson considered a real coup for the Tynesiders and further evidence of the fall from stability at Forest.

According to the i Paper, it is understood that Newcastle will seek to reward Sandro Tonali, Sven Botman and Tino Livramento with new deals once the transfer specialist is instated.

One of Wilson’s biggest strengths is his ability to identify and sign first-team candidates who both align with the manager’s tactical vision and the club’s wider culture.

Though this summer was one of much upheaval at Newcastle, there’s no denying Howe has eased the loss of Alexander Isak to Liverpool with a range of impactful additions, Nick Woltemade and Malick Thiaw in particular shining across the early months of the season.

Still, the direction has been at times uncertain, business taking an almost fragmented quality. Wilson, in tandem with Howe, could change that, with some exciting potential options already being discussed.

Who Ross Wilson could sign at Newcastle

Wilson signed his fair share of first-team players at Nottingham Forest, having joined from Rangers in 2023. At the time, the Midlands side were embroiled in a relegation battle in the Premier League and had not yet parted with Steve Cooper and brought in Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest now have their own issues, with Edu and Nuno’s conflict leading to a divorce which has left the club’s meteoric rise in tatters. Wilson played his part, though, and may now fancy a step-up to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle, for sure, have work to do if they wish to settle permanently alongside the Premier League elite. With Wilson and Howe working together, this could bear dividends, especially when considering Howe’s recent comments regarding Elliot Anderson, who was sold to the City Ground for about £35m in 2024 as the Toon scrambled to ease their PSR suffering.

Last week, the manager called Anderson, 22, a “precious” talent who he would “love” to welcome back to his boyhood club, and now Newcastle have landed Wilson, that potential lane of communication has very much stretched open.

It would be a costly one to engineer, to be sure, but now, it certainly seems a whole lot more likely.

And there’s more. Nick Pope is still performing at 33 years old, but he’s out of contract at the end of the season and a replacement might be required, even with Aaron Ramsdale having joined on loan in August.

James Trafford came within a whisker of signing for the Magpies this summer, and now that he’s on the fringes at Manchester City, he might recieve a call from Wilson down the line.

Manchester City'sJamesTraffordlooks dejected after the match

That should just about do it. Howe leads a complete and robust Newcastle side, but even though £55m was forked out for Forest’s Anthony Elanga this summer, there might be a desire to add another winger to the ranks.

And who better than Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who was very much on the club’s radar this summer? The Cherries fought off interest from many of the Premier League’s biggest hitters, with the Ghanaian forward signing a new contract at the club.

The vultures still circle, though, and Newcastle are among that kettle of suitors looking to strike a deal, having prepared a bid in the final weeks of the window. Liverpool are also keen, showing interest as recently as this week, and they have been met with demands of a £75m payment from the south coast club.

Semenyo would cost a pretty penny, alright, but there’s little question that he’d be a fantastic addition, having scored six goals and supplied three more across seven top-flight appearances this season.

We know already that Howe wanted to bring the prolific forward to the club, and now Wilson will help promote Howe’s vision.

It’s exciting to note that even with Isak having been sold this summer, Newcastle have a dynamic crop of players capable of hitting even loftier heights than were struck last season. But with the likes of Trafford and Anderson and Semenyo added to the fold, Newcastle would go from strength to strength.

One Premier League analyst has even claimed Semenyo is “one of the best players in the world”. These are the heights Newcastle must be striving for, and Wilson can make it happen.

Nissanka 187 leads SL's solid reply after Bangladesh post 495

Mathews fell for 39 in his farewell Test, even as Chandimal’s fifty helped SL reduce deficit to 127

Madushka Balasuriya19-Jun-2025Partnerships were the name of the game for Sri Lanka as every top-order batter chipped in to whittle away at Bangladesh’s healthy first-innings total of 495. By stumps, Sri Lanka’s deficit had been trimmed to just 127.A majority of it was cut down courtesy Pathum Nissanka, who struck a career-best 187 off 256 balls. It was his first ton on home soil, and a knock that had seen him dominate from the first new ball to the second. He would have been eyeing a maiden Test double hundred – to go with one in ODIs – but that second new ball and the unpredictability of a wobble seam combined to dislodge him, as Hasan Mahmud sneaked an inducker through bat and pad late in the day. That wicket may end up keeping Bangladesh’s heads from dropping heading into day four, after the Sri Lanka batters had spent the majority of day three steadily shaking out any confidence the visitors may have gathered during their dominance on the opening two days.Nissanka was part of four steady stands, alongside Lahiru Udara, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews and Kamindu Mendis, which were worth 47, 157, 89, and 38, respectively. More pressingly for Bangladesh, the scoring during each of these stands came at a fair clip, with Sri Lanka’s run rate consistently hovering around four an over.Dinesh Chandimal and Pathum Nissanka added 147 for the second wicket•Sri Lanka CricketBut even following Nissanka’s dismissal, any respite seemed short lived as Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu already sped to a stand of 37 off 45 deliveries by the end of play. For Bangladesh, the four wickets were shared equally among Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan and Mominul Haque. But with three of the five bowlers employed going at over four runs runs an over, it was a tough day out for the visitors. On a surface that had started showing signs of deterioration – but one that was still good for batting by Galle’s usual day three standards – Sri Lanka’s batters showed Bangladesh where theirs had faltered. Well, as much as you could falter having scored 495.Bangladesh had spent the first two days content at progressing at a touch above three runs an over, rarely shifting pressure on to the Sri Lanka bowlers. In the end, it proved to be the difference between a total of near-500 and perhaps 600.Fine margins, usually, but with Sri Lanka knocking off 75% of Bangladesh’s total in just three sessions, there now lies the very real possibility that Bangladesh could be asked to bat out day five – rain allowing – just to save the Test. And while this Galle surface has been more batter-friendly than usual, the ball misbehaved occasionally, and you imagine that will only get more frequent over the next two days. That said, Sri Lanka still have work to do to make that possibility a reality. But you wouldn’t back against them judging by how they went about their batting across the day.Angelo Mathews got a guard of honour from the Bangladesh players•Ishara S. Kodikara/AFP/Getty ImagesAside from a brief period before tea, when scoring slowed to a trickle, Sri Lanka’s batters had it all their own way. This was down to a combination of positive intent from the batters, and some inconsistent lines and lengths from the Bangladesh bowlers. Nissanka, in particular, was batting with supreme authority: anything short was dispatched square, and anything overpitched was laced through the covers. His aggression, and ability to alleviate even small periods of pressure with a boundary or two, meant the pressure on his partners was kept to a minimum. It saw Chandimal notch up a 33rd Test fifty, while Mathews, too, might have enjoined a similar milestone if not for being at the end of one of those rare deliveries that misbehaved. Mominul, the part-timer, got one to dip and turn past Mathews’ forward defence, tickling the outside edge on the way. Each of the wickets to fall, in fact, were against the run of play. Debutant Udara had made it look a far cry from his first Test during a fluent 34-ball 29, before chipping a leading edge back to Taijul. Chandimal, meanwhile, clipped a leg-side offbreak low to leg slip off Nayeem. But with each wicket, Sri Lanka simply dusted themselves off and set about putting together another brisk stand. It was a sharp contrast from Bangladesh’s innings, which had two mammoth stands in the middle, but either side of those had only one reach even 20.Sri Lanka had begun the day with similar efficiency, wrapping up the Bangladesh innings inside the first 15 minutes of the morning session. Asitha Fernando did the honours, ending with figures of 4 for 86.

Klaasen not in SA central contracts list; Miller, van der Dussen accept hybrid deals

CSA on Klaasen: “Discussions regarding his future are ongoing and a final decision will be made in due course”

Firdose Moonda07-Apr-2025

Heinrich Klaasen’s international future is uncertain•Associated Press

Heinrich Klaasen’s international playing future could be over after he was not named in Cricket South Africa’s 18-player central contract list. Klaasen, who retired from Test cricket in January 2024, was on a white-ball only contract in the previous cycle and is understood to be prioritising his T20 league future. CSA said in a statement that “discussions regarding his future are ongoing and a final decision will be made in due course.”David Miller, who was also on a white-ball only deal last year and Rassie van der Dussen accepted hybrid contracts which will allow them to “participate in specific agreed-upon bilateral tours and ICC events.”ESPNcricinfo Ltd

Both Klaasen and Miller are contracted to teams in the Hundred which will clash with South Africa’s white-ball tour to Australia that runs from August 10 to 24.The 18-player contract list included Lizaad Williams, who has been out of action after undergoing knee surgery this year, allrounder Senuran Muthusamy and 18-year-old left-arm quick Kwena Maphaka for the first time.David Bedingham, Wiaan Mulder and Kyle Verreynne, who were given what CSA called ‘contract upgrades” (in other words added to the central contract list midway through the season) were all retained, as was Nandre Burger though he hasn’t played a match all season as he recovers from a stress fracture.Left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin and allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo were the only two players other than Klaasen who lost their deals. Tabraiz Shamsi, who opted out of his central contract last October, and Anrich Nortje, who did not sign a deal when the last contracts were drawn up, remained off the list. The contracted group included Test and ODI captain Temba Bavuma and T20I skipper Aiden Markram along with all of the first-choice pace attack. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj were all on the list (but Test seamer Dane Paterson is not) alongside regular Test batters Tony de Zorzi, and David Bedingham. All-format batters Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton were also included with the playing group providing a clear indication of who South Africa will call on for the World Test Championship final (WTC) in June, as well as next year’s T20 World Cup, as they build towards the home ODI World Cup in 2027.”All of these players have been contracted with the importance of the next World Test Championship cycle and the 2027 Cricket World Cup on home soil in mind,” Enoch Nkwe, Director of National Teams and High Performance said. “The hybrid contracts take into consideration the dynamic nature of modern-day cricket and will provide David and Rassie with the opportunity to contribute to the team during specific bilateral tours and ICC events. An exciting season awaits as we compete for the WTC mace and look to take one step further in next year’s T20 World Cup.”South Africa last played international cricket at the Champions Trophy semi-final, which they lost to New Zealand, and will next play at the WTC final before beginning a lengthy program away from home. They will play Tests and a T20I series in Zimbabwe in July, white-ball matches in Australia and England, Tests in Pakistan and will close out the year with an all-format tour of India. They will also be under a new coach in white-ball cricket after Rob Walter resigned last week.Current Test coach Shukri Conrad is the frontrunner to take over. It was under Conrad that Klaasen retired from Tests after Conrad had initially picked him over Verreynne, then went back to Verreynne and hoped Klaasen would play on some of the slower surfaces later in the cycle. Klaasen’s retirement changed those plans.SA men’s contract listTemba Bavuma, David Bedingham, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi, Reeza Hendricks, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kwena Maphaka, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Senuran Muthusamy, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, Kyle Verreynne, Lizaad WilliamsHybrid contracts: David Miller, Rassie van der Dussen

Rodgers may have unearthed Celtic's next Tierney & it's not Saracchi

Celtic moved back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table on Sunday afternoon with a hard-fought 2-1 win away from Parkhead against Kilmarnock.

The Hoops needed a header from Japan international Daizen Maeda and a last-gasp penalty from Kelechi Iheanacho to claim all three points in the match.

As shown in the clip in the post above, summer signing Marcelo Saracchi was key to the first goal with his sublime cross from the left flank to tee up the Celtic centre-forward to score.

Marcelo Saracchi's performance in numbers

The Uruguay international was selected to play from the start for the Scottish giants to provide first-choice left-back Kieran Tierney with a rest, after he had to pull out of the Scotland squad through injury.

Saracchi played the first 58 minutes of the game, before being replaced by Tierney, and his assist for Maeda was the only chance that he created in that time on the pitch.

The left-footed battler had a few nervous touches early on in the match, and gave possession away 12 times in total, but he steadied himself to put in a solid performance, winning three of his four duels, per Sofascore.

Chalkboard

Football FanCast’s Chalkboard series presents a tactical discussion from around the global game.

Whilst Saracchi’s assist for Maeda’s goal could be described as Tierney-esque, there was another player on the pitch who could be the club’s next Tierney in the making, Colby Donovan.

Why Colby Donovan may be the next Kieran Tierney

The Celtic number 67 returned to Glasgow for a second spell at the club after he initially broke through the academy to become a first-team star before his £25m move to Arsenal in 2019.

Tierney, as shown in the graphic above, made 170 appearances and won five titles in the Premiership after emerging from the youth ranks to lock down the left-back spot.

Brendan Rodgers may have unearthed the club’s next cab off the ranks in the form of Donovan, whose performance showed that he is more than capable of starting games at right-back for the Hoops.

As you can see in the table above, the Scotland U21 international was incredibly solid defensively throughout the match, winning seven of his ten duels in total.

Rodgers trusted the youngster, who made two prior appearances off the bench this season, to step in as a starter in place of the injured Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston, and the teenage starlet did not let him down.

To go along with his defensive excellence, Donovan also had 101 touches of the ball and completed 82% of his attempted passes, which shows that he was comfortable and reliable on the ball for the most part.

After a couple of nervy touches early on, which were to be expected on his full debut, the 19-year-old talent settled down and showcased his class on and off the ball at right-back to prove that he is a genuine first-team calibre option for the manager to call upon.

With Johnston out for several more weeks with a hamstring injury, Donovan has a real chance to nail down a starting spot in the side for the foreseeable future, which would then put him in position to be the back-up to the Canada international instead of Ralston.

It is now down to the academy graduate to deliver quality performances, like his display against Kilmarnock, whenever he is called upon to make sure that Rodgers has no excuse to drop him.

Isak thinks he's "fearless": Celtic are now brewing their next Matt O'Riley

Celtic are brewing their next Matt O’Riley with this versatile attacking star at Parkhead.

ByDan Emery Sep 11, 2025

If he can do that, Donovan may well go on to be the next Tierney as another academy graduate full-back who could be a real success at Parkhead. One thing is for sure: his performance on Sunday was a terrific first step towards achieving that.

King dictates proceedings once again as Australia take control

England have little to show aside from Nat Sciver-Brunt’s fifty on day one of pink-ball Test

Alex Malcolm30-Jan-2025Not for the first time in this series, Alana King put on a masterclass of legspin bowling in front of the Shane Warne Stand to bamboozle England and hand Australia full control on the opening day of the pink-ball Test at the MCG.Just as she did across town at the Junction Oval during the ODI series, where a smaller, quainter Shane Warne Stand casts a shadow at the southern end, King put on a clinic bowling 23 overs unchanged from the start of the second session to claim career-best Test figures of 4 for 45 and help bowl England out for 170. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 51 was the lone shining light for England on another bleak afternoon, but she should have been out twice to King whose spell even outshone the bizarre pop-up rock concert Australian artist G-Flip performed during the dinner break. The bowling performance was soured however by a hip injury to Ellyse Perry. She landed heavily after diving to knock back a ball on the rope during the middle session. She left the field shortly after and did not return for the last two hours of Australia’s bowling innings. Australia’s team management confirmed she would not bat on the first evening and would be reassessed in the morning.Annabel Sutherland instead walked in at No. 3 and saw Australia through to stumps alongside Phoebe Litchfield, cruising to 56 for 1 after the loss of Georgia Voll who opened on Test debut.Australia would have been delighted with the bowling performance after winning the toss and electing to field on an MCG surface featuring 9mm of grass. But they could have bowled England out even sooner.King should have had more, with four chances missed off her bowling alone as Australia were uncharacteristically sloppy in the field. Beth Mooney missed a stumping and a caught behind off King and dropped another off Annabel Sutherland diving to her right. Alyssa Healy failed to take a simple catch cleanly at slip, again off King, clutching at the ball awkwardly and grounding it while it was in the end of her fingers. King dropped a caught-and-bowled chance, while Voll grassed a straightforward chance at slip off Darcie Brown.None of the misses were costly though as England capitulated again. King’s hard-spun legbreaks were the stuff of dreams for a legspinner but will only create further nightmares for England’s batters after haunting them all tour.England were getting a foothold in the day at 97 for 3 when King deceived Sophia Dunkley with late drop to force a simple chipped return catch after Mooney had early missed a difficult stumping chance.King then went to work on Danni Wyatt-Hodge, fizzing three huge legbreaks past her outside edge in one over. Sciver-Brunt, who had held England’s innings together, was also beaten multiple times in similar fashion.King finally kissed Sciver-Brunt’s outside edge with another perfect legbreak only for a poorly set-up Healy at slip to grass the rare catch without gloves on. Her injured foot meant she was not keeping and posting up at slip to limit her running. But she was set up too high, with her hands on her knees, and was unable to pouch the ankle-high chance cleanly.Litchfield had no such problems at silly mid-off, taking at outstanding catch diving low to her right after Wyatt-Hodge presented the leading edge to another fizzing legbreak.England may have regretted leaving out Charlie Dean and selecting three seamers as their lone spinner Sophie Ecclestone chipped King to cover to hand her a third scalp.Sciver-Brunt was then bowled for the fifth consecutive innings in the series, and for the third time against legspin, trying to a pull a good-length legbreak that hit the stumps well under bail height.Amongst King’s carnage, Amy Jones was bowled playing back to spin for the second time in the series, missing a full delivery from Ash Gardner and losing her off stump.King missed out on a maiden Test five-for as Mooney dropped an edge off Ryana MacDonald-Gay and then clanged a sharp return catch offered by Lauren Filer. Brown claimed Filer instead before Lauren Bell was run out tamely to end the innings.Brown and Kim Garth had earlier laid the groundwork for King’s wizardry with an excellent opening burst that saw England slump to 47 for 3. Maia Bouchier’s miserable tour continued, nicking Garth behind for 2 to go with scores of 13, 0, 0, 17 and 9 in the white-ball series.Tammy Beaumont was trapped plumb lbw for 8 by an excellent delivery from Brown that nipped back off the seam to leave England 23 for 2.Skipper Heather Knight’s innings was anything but assured. She survived a similar lbw shout off Brown and a subsequent review that showed it was umpire’s call on clipping leg stump. She edged Sutherland behind but Mooney could not take the one-handed offer. Garth then followed Brown and nipped another back into Knight’s front pad and the appeal was rewarded with a raised finger.

PIF set sights on signing 13-goal star for Newcastle after Isak bombshell

Following the undeniable bombshell that Alexander Isak has asked to leave the club, Newcastle United and PIF have reportedly set their sights on a talented replacement.

When news emerged that he was suffering from a thigh injury and he would, therefore, not travel to take part in Newcastle’s Asia tour, it became clear that trouble may be afoot. And soon enough, reports came to the fore that Isak has, indeed, asked to leave St James’ Park this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia and Liverpool.

It would have been Newcastle’s biggest fear heading into this summer, but that fear would have only increased by their own transfer failure. The last thing that Eddie Howe needs after watching the Magpies miss out on Hugo Ekitike, Joao Pedro and Bryan Mbeumo is for Isak to depart, but that may be the reality that he is forced to live with next season.

There is still one positive in this saga for Newcastle, though. As frustrating as losing Isak would be, his exit would instantly solve any remaining PSR problems for the foreseeable future and allow PIF to flex their financial muscles in full.

According to The Athletic, the final package to sign Isak could cost as much as £250m, with Newcastle demanding a transfer fee worth as much as £150m before agent fees and wages are taken into account.

Newcastle United's AlexanderIsakcelebrates scoring their first goal

With a chunk of that money, the Magpies could welcome an instant replacement and then finally splash the cash to improve other areas in Howe’s squad.

PIF set sights on Lois Openda

Turning towards an Isak replacement before anything, those at St James’ Park are now reportedly ‘targeting’ a Bundesliga talent. According to transfer reporter Ben Jacobs, PIF have now set their sights on signing Lois Openda for Newcastle this summer as they look to find the heir to Isak’s Tyneside throne.

ByTom Cunningham Jul 25, 2025

The RB Leipzig forward, now at the peak of his powers at 25 years old, is not the out-and-out goalscorer that Isak is, but he is a better creator and could provide Howe with a better all-rounder than the Swede.

After impressing in the 2023/24 campaign, Openda picked up where he left off last season and ended the campaign with 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions. Described as a “fantastic young striker” by scout Jacek Kulig whilst in Germany, the Belgian could now get the chance to make the biggest move of his career so far.

"No brainer" – Luke Littler names £135m signings he wants Man Utd to make

Luke Littler is one of the most recognisable names in British sport, with the teenager transforming the darting world since bursting onto the scene in 2023.

Winning numerous major trophies, including the World Championship in 2025, Littler looks set to dominate for years to come. Away from the oche, Littler has made it known that he enjoys playing his Xbox and also doesn’t hide his love for his football team, Manchester United.

The Red Devils even invited Littler down to show off the World Championship trophy at Old Trafford, and the darting sensation is regularly asked questions about United.

With the transfer window open, INEOS have splashed the cash on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, something which has impressed Littler.

AI predicts how many goals and assists Cunha and Mbeumo will get for Man Utd in 2025/26

The pair have been backed to star at Old Trafford.

ByCharlie Smith Jul 22, 2025

He has now shared who else he wants to see signed at Old Trafford ahead of the 2025/26 season.

3 Douglas Luiz Juventus

Former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is being heavily linked with a return to the Premier League this summer after 12 months in Italy with Juventus.

The Brazilian has admirers from those at Old Trafford, and Luiz has actually played against Man Utd on 12 occasions, more than any other club in his career.

Littler now wants to see the £35m-rated midfielder in a Red Devils shirt, believing he “can do it all” in midfield.

2 Ollie Watkins Aston Villa

A new striker to play in front of Mbeumo and Cunha under Ruben Amorim is wanted before the deadline, with Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins one forward Man Utd have been in talks for.

Littler cited the possibility of Alejandro Garnacho swapping Old Trafford for Villa Park and wants £60m-rated Watkins to head in the other direction.

1 Emiliano Martinez Aston Villa

Another Villa Park star wanted in Manchester by Littler is goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The World Cup winner with Argentina in 2022 won the FIFA award for best goalkeeper in 2024 and could prove to be a major upgrade on Andre Onana.

Sent off on the final day against the Red Devils at Old Trafford, £40m-rated Martinez has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd.

Littler appears to have got confused regarding Martinez’s contract situation, though, as his deal runs until 2029, but called a move a “no brainer”.
