Ranking the 10 biggest derbies in European football

No matter who you support, there is always that one club you look out for when the fixture list is released. Big or small, there is nothing like derby day.

Clubs across Europe have harboured decades, sometimes even a century's worth of hate. Generations are raised with a burning disdain for their footballing rivals, local or political.

Of course, some things are more important than football, and there have been some touching moments between rival supporters, but as soon as that whistle blows, only one thing matters.

Football FanCast takes a look at ten of the biggest derbies and most intense rivalries in European football.

10 Ajax vs Feyenoord (Netherlands)

De Klassieker

The Netherlands is lovely, but don’t let bike rides along a canal in Amsterdam distract you from the fact that the football culture can get pretty heated, especially between these two clubs.

‘De Klassieker’ is without a doubt the biggest derby in Dutch football. Ajax and Feyenoord are two of the country’s most successful clubs domestically and continentally. They’ve also produced some pretty good players along the way.

The rivalry can be traced back all the way to the 13th century, which transcends the sport. It’s a tale of two cities; Ajax, from the more affluent capital of Amsterdam, and Feyenoord, from the more working-class port city of Rotterdam.

Ajax have come out on top more often than not, but that’s not to say Feyenoord haven’t had their moments. The 1982/83 season is a particularly sore spot for Ajax fans – Johan Cruyff was told he no longer had a future at the Amsterdam club, so he left to join their biggest rivals and won them the Eredivisie.

And if you needed a reminder of the intense feeling between the two clubs, September's edition had to be completed behind closed doors after the crowd threw flares on to the pitch, before the visitors belatedly ran out 4-0 winners.

9 FC Porto vs SL Benfica (Portugal)

O Classico

101

62

91

1931

3rd March 2024

This will probably be one of the most tightly contested derbies on this list. FC Porto is the immovable object to SL Benfica’s unstoppable force. Unless something drastic happens, both clubs will always be going at each other.

Benfica has Porto beat in terms of silverware, but the club from the country’s second city aren’t far behind. All it would take is a few years of Benfica slightly dropping off for them to catch up.

Known as ‘O Classico’ (there is going to be a running theme here), just like the Ajax vs Feyenoord derby, it was born out of a rivalry between the nation’s two biggest cities, Lisbon and Porto.

FC Porto have bragging rights as the club to have most recently won the Champions League thanks to Jose Mourinho in 2004, but Benfica pipped them to the Primeira Liga title by two points last season. Don’t be surprised if it’s just as tight this time around.

8 Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe (Turkey)

The Intercontinental Derby

85

90

24th December 2023

Istanbul is a city unlike any other on the planet. Straddling two continents in Europe and Asia, it is a rich tapestry with thousands of years’ worth of culture and influence. Of course, the football scene was going to be mental.

The Intercontinental Derby has everything: flags, flares, and fights. Things on the pitch are often marred by the rumblings off it; it’s fair to say that supporters of both clubs really care, but when they get together, there are few more vivid footballing experiences. Even the colours of their shirts clash.

This derby is pretty easy to understand, essentially it all comes down to the fact that Galatasaray are on the European side of the city, and Fenerbahçe are on the Asian. Sometimes that’s all people need to not like each other.

Over the past century or so, these two clubs have produced some truly memorable moments. Perhaps the most extraordinary was when Graeme Souness ran out onto Fenerbahçe’s pitch and planted a giant Galatasaray flag in the centre circle during his stint as manager. Of course, he had to make it all about himself.

7 Lazio vs Roma (Italy)

Derby della Capitale

50

63

67

1929

12th November 2023

In Lazio and Roma, the eternal city has produced two eternal rivals. These two clubs hate each other so much it burns like Sol, the Ancient Roman god of the sun. Even Neptune would struggle to quench that fire.

You won’t get many derbies more political than this one. AS Roma are the result of a merger, orchestrated by fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, who wanted a club in the capital that could challenge the more traditionally successful clubs in the north. Lazio were the only club to resist that merger.

Perhaps the most beautifully named derby on the list, the ‘Derby della Capitale’ is a big deal. Neither club has come close to their northern counterparts in terms of trophies won, but their support is second to none. Lazio won their most recent Serie A in 1999/00, but not to be outdone, Roma won it the season after.

We can’t talk about this rivalry without mentioning the King of Rome himself, Francesco Totti. He has by far the most appearances with 44 under his belt, scoring 11 goals.

6 Celtic vs Rangers (Scotland)

Old Firm

166

102

169

1890

30th December 2023

Glasgow is a city divided by religion and football, both equally important. Celtic and Rangers are institutions, so deeply ingrained into the city’s culture that you can’t imagine it without them, and vice-versa.

Ten years ago, this derby would have been top of the list. Unfortunately, Scottish football has fallen off a little bit in recent times, mostly because neither of these huge clubs have performed in Europe. Yes, we’re aware Rangers made it to the Europa League final in 2022.

The Old Firm, or Auld Firm if you’re feeling traditional, is a game of football every single fan should watch. In working-class cities like Glasgow, football means more, and that is obvious every single time these two clubs play each other.

It very nearly stopped existing when Rangers went insolvent, but thankfully they returned like a phoenix from the ashes. Even Celtic fans will admit Scottish football is better for their existence. If you get the chance, watch it.

5 Liverpool vs Everton (England)

The Merseyside Derby

99

77

67

1894

16th March 2024

We mean this with the utmost respect, it’s hard not to feel a little sorry for Everton with this one. They’re a huge club with a fantastic fanbase, they’re just always the bridesmaid. The Merseyside Derby is still great, though.

Twenty-eight red cards have been issued in the Merseyside Derby – 19 for Everton and nine for Liverpool. Some of them were fair, some not so much. That makes it the worst-disciplined game in English football.

Despite their best efforts in recent seasons, Everton are one of six clubs that have never been relegated from the Premier League; annoyingly for them, Liverpool are another. The red half of the city has also won more trophies by quite a margin.

The first English derby in this list, it’s easily one of the most entertaining. It may not be as much of a competition as the others, but if you’re a fan of two clubs kicking the daylights out of each other, check it out.

4 Red Star Belgrade vs Partizan Belgrade (Serbia)

The Eternal Derby

113

70

1947

2nd March 2024*

Serbian football may not be the best quality, but this derby sure is. If you like tifos and pyro, this is the place to be. You’d be hard-pressed to find fans that dedicate as much time and love to their clubs as Red Star and Partizan.

This is the Eternal Derby, and it is without a doubt one of the most intense and violent sporting events in the world. These two clubs hate each other so much, their rivalry spills over into basketball and even youth football.

It started in 1947, when both clubs were founded and quickly divided the city. The atmosphere during these games is electric.

3 Internazionale vs AC Milan (Italy)

Derby della Madonnina

90

69

79

1909

21st April 2024

Red and black vs blue and black, this derby is one of the most easily recognisable in the world. Made even juicer by the fact these two giants share the same stadium; this is the pinnacle of Italian football.

Just like the Roma vs Lazio derby, the name just rolls off the tongue. The ‘Derby della Madonnina’ is just as good on the eyes are it is in the mouth. Fantastic football, hard tackles, and gorgeous goals.

It may come as a surprise, but Internazionale have come out on top more than their city rivals, winning 90 of their 238 official games. They can’t compete with AC Milan’s Champions League trophy tally though. AC Milan have seven to Inter’s three.

The San Siro was due to be demolished by 2026 to make way for a more modern ground. Thankfully that no longer seems to be on the cards due to the ground’s cultural heritage. Long live the San Siro.

2 Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur (England)

North London Derby

81

52

61

1909

27th April 2024

London has more top-flight clubs than any other European capital with seven in total, but no derby is quite as heated as the North London Derby. It’s easily the most hotly contested game in English football. Almost every game between the two is great.

The Emirates Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium aren’t necessarily known for their incredible atmospheres, but when this game comes around, both sets of fans turn that notion on its head.

The North London Derby is a battle for regional supremacy, even if Arsenal don’t actually originate from north London. Arsenal do have most wins, but Spurs’ very own Harry Kane has the most goals – most of them bangers.

These two sets of fans will probably never see eye to eye, but we thank them for making this one of the best derbies out there.

1 Barcelona vs Real Madrid (Spain)

El Clasico

100

52

103

1902

21st April 2024

When it comes to star power, this might be the biggest derby in world football. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho. These are just a few players to compete in the most glamorous derby out there. We could go on, but we won’t, this listicle would be too long.

You don’t even need to be a football fan to know the words ‘El Clasico’; so many derbies across the world are the same, but in a different language. This is THE derby, though sometimes it doesn’t quite live up to the hype.

It’s all about identity. Real Madrid are Spanish, Barcelona are Catalan. It’s that simple, except it’s incredibly complicated. In the 1930s, Barcelona had developed a reputation as a symbol of Catalan independence. General Francisco Franco came to power in 1936, and he very much didn’t like that.

Barcelona’s recent financial difficulties have put them in a state of limbo – no one is quite sure what’s going on or if they’ll even exist in the next five years. Hopefully they will. While that’s happened, Real Madrid are collecting Champions League trophies. Here’s to this derby lasting forever.

As football changes over the next few years, the passion derived from these derbies won’t. Long may they continue.

England take grip after Keaton Jennings comes good

Scorecard and ball-by-ball detailsOn the third day of a Galle Test that has defied most predictions, Keaton Jennings produced an exceptional, unbeaten hundred, Ben Stokes provided a half-century and Ben Foakes and Jos Buttler made middling contributions to propel England to a virtually unassailable position. The visitors were 446 runs ahead at stumps, with Sri Lanka’s having had to bat seven overs following a declaration, as the day waned.England will hardly be bothered that they didn’t get a wicket before the close – there are two more days to play, and this is a notoriously treacherous surface on days four and five. No team has ever successfully chased more than 99 at this venue. No team has ever batted out more than 114 fourth-innings overs. Sri Lanka’s situation, in short, is bleak in the extreme.Jennings’ 146 not out off 280 balls was not quite flawless. There were mishits and plays-and-misses through the day, as Sri Lanka’s spinners – Dilruwan Perera in particular – repeatedly tested his outside edge. He should also have been out for 58 off the bowling of Dhananjaya de Silva, but the umpire turned the lbw appeal down, and Sri Lanka declined to review. But as many who have made second-innings hundreds on turning pitches in Asia will attest, you need such pieces of good fortune to build the kind of mammoth innings Jennings produced. What he did especially well was to resolutely defend the balls that threatened his stumps, and his pads, and let the turning deliveries spin past his blade. On the many occasions he was beaten, the close-in fielders would yelp and gesticulate, but Jennings refused to be shaken out of his calm. His defensive strategy had worked thus far. Why let the unplayable balls panic him into a different method? It was on the off side that Jennings prospered most, partly because Sri Lanka had two offspinners in their attack, but also because his most profitable strokes in the innings were the reverse sweep, the cut and the back-foot punch through the cover region. Of his first hundred runs, a full third came behind square on the off side. More than two thirds came on the off side in general.Sri Lanka attempted to curb the reverse sweep via various means, initially putting a man deep, then pulling him into the circle to try and tempt a mistake, and later even briefly posting a gully, in addition to a slip, to try and block off that area. Jennings continued to reverse sweep despite this, and just kept scoring runs. It wasn’t until later in the day, especially as England strove for quick runs ahead of the declaration, that Jennings began to play more expensively to leg. Of his nine fours, seven came on the off side.Sri Lanka had given themselves a glimmer of hope in the first session when they claimed three wickets for 14 runs, but through Jennings’ 107-run stand with Stokes, England virtually ground the opposition into the dust. Stokes was the aggressor, making 60 off 93, striking three big blows down the ground off the spinners, while Jennings pottered along at his own steady pace. By the time the pair were parted, England were 320 runs ahead, and batting had begun to look quite easy.Neither Buttler nor Foakes had much trouble beginning their innings, both going on to half-decent thirties, and sticking around for 77 and 61-run stands respectively. Foakes fell one ball before Joe Root declared the innings, holing out to deep midwicket in his attempts to make quick runs.Sri Lanka’s openers were largely untroubled as they took the team to 15 for no loss. Many hopes rest on Dimuth Karunaratne, who was not only Sri Lanka’s top-scorer in their most recent Test series, but has a reputation for playing long innings, against good opposition, in spinning conditions. Dinesh Chandimal is the other batsman who has recently produced marathon knocks with any deal of consistency, but he was off the field the entire day, still suffering from the groin strain he picked up while fielding on day one. It is likely to hamper his batting as well, and in any case, he cannot come in higher than at No. 7.For the hosts, a difficult day was made tougher by the fact that the retiring Rangana Herath could not prove effective against an England top order packed with left-handers. In his final innings with the ball, he removed Joe Root for the second time in the game, having him caught behind with a gripping delivery. Later, he removed Buttler, caught excellently at silly point by a diving Kaushal Silva.Herath led the team off the field after England declared, with 433 wickets to his name, which for now places him eighth equal on the all-time list, though he is sure to slip to ninth soon enough, when Stuart Broad, who is not playing in this Test, takes another scalp.

Reporter reveals concerns over fitness of Rangers players under Beale

Some new comments from Leeds United journalist Phil Hay suggest that some of Michael Beale's Rangers players were not fully fit during his time as manager earlier this year.

Philippe Clement replaces Michael Beale at Rangers

The Gers went into the new Scottish Premiership season hoping to narrow the gap between themselves and rivals Celtic, but it was clear early on that there were problems in the camp.

Beale was under pressure to get some positive early results in the campaign, but instead they stuttered on the pitch, slipping up against the likes of Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, not to mention being dumped out of the Champions League by PSV Eindhoven after a 5-1 defeat in the Netherlands.

Rangers decided to relieve the 43-year-old of his duties in early October, with a change badly need in the Ibrox hot seat, and Philippe Clement has come in as his replacement, steadying the ship and picking up some important wins.

The Gers are still eight points adrift of Celtic in the league table but have a game in hand, and the club feels in a happier place than it did a few months ago, with the decision to get rid of Beale a good one.

One player who Rangers lost during the summer transfer window was Glen Kamara, who moved south of the border to join Leeds United.

Worries over fitness of Kamara at Rangers

Speaking on The Square Ball Podcast [via Leeds United News], the reliable Hay praised the fitness level of Glen Kamara in Leeds' 1-0 win away to Leicester, hinting that there were concerns about his fitness levels coming from Rangers, when Beale was of course in charge:

"Really strong, really good at disrupting what Leicester were trying to do. Got both sides to his game. The fact he hadn’t been involved at Rangers was one of the reasons why it took so long to go through.

"Leeds were in two minds over whether he would come down here and be lacking in fitness that would have stopped him contributing to the season. But that hasn’t looked like a problem, he looks really fit."

It's fair to say that Beale wasn't a popular figure with Rangers supporters by the time he was sacked and replaced by Clement – interestingly, Beale has the second-highest win rate (72.1%) of any Gers manager in history – and Hay's update will only add fuel to the fire.

While there is no guarantee that the Englishman was failing to get his players in the best possible shape at Ibrox, there are certainly suggestions here that that was the case, hence Leeds' reluctance to make a move for Kamara, who had largely been collecting dust under the former QPR boss.

Ultimately, Beale was out of his depth as Rangers manager, considering the size of the job, and he has still predominantly made a name for himself as a coach, impressing at Liverpool and always being admired by Steven Gerrard, who once called him an "expert".

Everton now set to make offer to sign new "menace" for Dyche

Everton have finally turned a corner under Sean Dyche to steer themselves away from the relegation zone and onwards towards mid-table comforts. On the pitch, the Toffees have enjoyed an excellent last month or so, advancing in the Carabao Cup against Burnley as well as losing just once in their last five Premier League games, which came at Anfield in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, when their performance arguably deserved a point.

Whilst the threat of a points deduction still lurks, it may well be Everton's current form that keeps them up come the end of the campaign. If they avoid any further punishment alongside a potential deduction too, the Toffees could be in a position to land one specific Serie A target during the January transfer window.

Everton transfer news

Considering their financial difficulties, Everton did well in the summer to recruit a number of players for Dyche. The former Burnley manager was able to welcome the likes of Jack Harrison, Beto, Arnaut Danjuma and Ashley Young, who have all played their part so far this season. If 777 Partners complete their takeover of the club, we could yet see more arrivals at Goodison Park and that could include a deal from Serie A.

According to TeamTalk, Everton are set to make an offer to sign Samuel Iling-Junior, who has found himself out-of-favour at Juventus. The winger has made just four appearances all season and now looks set to move on amid reported interest from the Merseyside club, as well as Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

samuel-iling-junior-everton-transfer-premier-league

At just 20-years-old, the Englishman looks likely to have a big decision to make in January. At this stage, after failing to receive enough game-time at Juventus, minutes on the pitch should be the key to his decision and that's something Everton could offer over the likes of Spurs and Aston Villa.

"Menace" Iling-Junior could hand Everton a surprise boost

If Everton can convince Iling-Junior to choose them over fellow Premier League sides, then Dyche could be handed an unexpected boost. The winger may still be young, but the fact that the Chelsea academy star got the move to Juventus in the first place says all you need to know about the talent that he has at his disposal. Iling-Junior's stats when compared to Everton's current wingers show that he is more than capable of keeping up with those more experienced, too.

From those stats, it's clear that Iling-Junior would also only benefit from more game-time. During limited minutes on the pitch for Juventus this season, he has already produced impressive numbers. Now, if he received consistent starts for a side like Everton, then those numbers would only improve to create one of Dyche's best offensive options.

Iling-Junior has been at the centre of praise at times whilst in Italy, including from U23 scout and journalist Antonio Mango, who posted on X: "Was handed a surprise start at the weekend, away to a touch Atalanta team. He scored the opening goal and was a constant menace throughout the game. High energy and work volume as well as dreamy ball skills. Definitely one to watch"

Rajshahi storm to sixth NCL title after Junaid ton

Monir and Enamul’s hat-tricks, a stunning fourth-innings chase, Saleh’s sign-off and more in the NCL round-up

ESPNcricinfo staff08-Nov-2018Rajshahi Division were crowned National Cricket League champions following their six-wicket win over Barisal Division in the last round fixture. Dhaka Division, meanwhile, earned a promotion to the top tier. Here’s a round-up of the last four matches of the first-class competition:Tale of the title
Rajshahi last won the NCL in 2011-12. It was their fourth title on the trot, and their fifth overall. Khulna won the last three seasons to take their titles tally to six. Now, they’re no longer the side with most wins, with Rajshahi having joined them with this win. Khulna, meanwhile, avoided relegation this year.Best match
It was a fitting finale in Rajshahi, where the hosts chased down 284 to win, with Junaid Siddique making an unbeaten 120. His fourth-wicket stand of 149 with Jahurul Islam, who made 64, made victory possible. The match was mostly dominated by the bowlers though. After Mohor Sheikh’s five-wicket haul sunk Barisal to 97 all out in the first innings, Monir Hossain took 5 for 14 including a hat-trick on the second day, as Rajshahi were bowled out for 160. The lead notwithstanding, Barisal made a sterling comeback with Al Amin making 97 in their second-innings 346. A target of 284 ought to have been a challenge, but Rajshahi chased down the runs in style.Best batsmen
Rajin Saleh signed off from first-class cricket two gritty half-centuries. He made 67 and 87 for Sylhet Division, who finished last in Tier-2. Saleh’s second-innings effort was made worthwhile by similarly resolute efforts from Jakir Ali and Shahanur Rahman who were unbeaten on 77 and 70 respectively.Best bowlers

Soumya Sarkar (471), Naeem Islam (444) and Rony Talukdar (426) round off the top five.Offspinner Nayeem led the bowling charts with 28 wickets at 25.03, followed by the veteran left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny who took 23 wickets at 24.65. Farhad Reza was the leading wicket-taker among the pace bowlers with 22 scalps at 26.59.

Journalist predicts "interesting" exit news coming from Celtic in January

Celtic could be looking to make new signings in the January transfer window, but some "interesting" Hoops exit news could also come to fruition, according to an update from journalist Dean Jones.

Celtic transfer news

The Hoops still find themselves in a strong position in the Scottish Premiership title race, even though Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Motherwell was a disappointing result. Fortunately, Rangers' dropped points by the same scoreline at Aberdeen means that no ground has been gained on Brendan Rodgers' side, who still hold an eight-point advantage at the top of the table, having played one game extra.

Celtic signal January transfer plans; Rodgers convinced he can land targets

Celtic are keen to strengthen in January to give them an edge in the hunt for the Scottish Premiership title…

BySean Markus Clifford Nov 26, 2023

Celtic aren't firing on all cylinders, however, and the January transfer window will allow Rodgers to make new signings in key areas, should he feel the need to. A recent update suggests that the Hoops are looking to bring in three new players in January, one of which is a goalkeeper, creating more competition for places in the process.

There is also a chance that certain fringe players leave Parkhead midway through the season, and a key update has emerged regarding the future of one such individual.

James McCarthy expected to leave Celtic

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said that James McCarthy's time as a Celtic player could come to an end in January, having struggled to feature regularly for some time.

"It'll be interesting to see what opportunities come along for James McCarthy in January. I certainly think we will be hearing of some links. He does feel like a forgotten man at Celtic right now, so I think that they have to consider what the future is going to look like and whether he's a part of it. I think it seems unlikely right now."

In truth, January feels like the right time for McCarthy's Celtic adventure to come to an end, considering how much he has struggled to be a key man under Rodgers, while Jones also suggested we could see Marco Tilio leave the club in search of game time.

This season, the 33-year-old hasn't played a single minute of action for the Hoops, highlighting his struggles, and incredibly, he hasn't actually featured in a single game for Celtic since last October, in a Scottish League Cup clash with Motherwell in 2022/23.

It is pointless keeping McCarthy around for any longer than January, especially as the former Everton man is earning £14,000 per week at Parkhead for essentially contributing next to nothing to the cause, and the hope is that another club come in for him in January.

At 33, McCarthy's best days looks to be behind him, however, so there may not necessarily be a long queue of clubs waiting to snap him up – the Celtic man has also been dogged by injuries down the years – but it makes sense for all parties for him to enjoy a new challenge during the autumn of his career.

McCarthy is conracted with the Hoops until the summer of 2025, but they need to sell him as soon as possible, rather than simply end up losing him on a free transfer when his deal eventually expires.

Leeds name price for "really good" player club is willing to let go

Finding their feet under Daniel Farke in the Championship, Leeds United are eyeing promotion at the first time of asking following their relegation last term. The West Yorkshire club look on course to secure a play-off place at the very least, whilst also potentially shocking either Ipswich Town or Leicester City to steal a place in the top two. Farke has made a number of changes at the club to get to this point, whether by choice or simply players deciding to leave, and he could have yet more decisions to make in the January transfer window.

Reports suggest that Leeds have named their price for one particular player, who looks increasingly likely to secure a permanent move away from Elland Road in the near future.

Leeds United transfer news

Bidding farewell to the likes of Rodrigo and Tyler Adams in the summer transfer window, Leeds could have so easily capitulated. Instead, however, they welcomed players such as Ethan Ampadu and Joel Piroe, who have enjoyed excellent starts to life at the club. Now, more changes could be heading the way of the Elland Road outfit, as Farke looks to make finishing touches to his squad ahead of their promotion push.

Leeds midfielder Marc Roca.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United want to recoup at least £9m for Marc Roca, with negotiations underway with the midfielder's loan club, Real Betis, over a permanent move during the January transfer window. The West Yorkshire club are keen to avoid a loss on their investment, which has simply not worked out for them as planned. Now in a position for both parties to cut ties, a move seems increasingly likely.

Following Leeds' relegation from the Premier League, Roca got his move away from the club and into La Liga with Real Betis. Ever since, he has enjoyed a far more impressive spell, too. Betis sit as high as seventh in Spain's top flight, just seven points adrift of the all-important top four and vying for a European place. It has been a solid run that the Leeds loanee has played an important part in, as Roca's stats show:

At his best, it is clear that Roca is a player capable of playing a key role, but it simply has not worked out at Leeds. During his time at Bayern Munich, former sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told The Times about the midfielder: “Our income was down €120 million [about £105 million] because of an empty Allianz Arena, and you can’t spend money you don’t have, we won’t take such risks. We tried to get in players who didn’t pose a financial risk but made it possible to generate sales afterwards that allowed us to get some top players in. A player like Marc Roca might not have quite made it but he’s nevertheless a really good player, an interesting player, who’s a starter for Leeds United [now].”

While Kane's individual accolades are undoubtedly commendable, his primary objective upon joining Bayern Munich was to secure major silverware. However, a challenging domestic campaign has posed significant hurdles in achieving this goal. With the Bundesliga title appearing increasingly elusive, Kane and his teammates now turn their focus towards the Champions League as their sole opportunity to claim silverware in the 2023-24 season. But they will be challenged by Mikel Arteta's Arsenal in the quarterfinal stage of the competition in a bid to stop them from winning their sixth European crown.
